If you are looking for a card that stands up, pops out, folds flat, and is meant to be displayed, the Bandstand Fun Fold is the right choice! This easy fun fold only uses three pieces of cardstock to make the base of the card. You will see how to make two different versions of the Bandstand Fun Fold.
Measurements & Directions for Horizontal Bandstand
- 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” cardstock for card base
- (2) 7” x 1-1/4” cardstock (same color as card base)
- 3-3/4” x 4” DSP (1) & White (1)
- (2) 1/2” x 4” DSP
- (2) 1” x 1-3/4” DSP
- (4) 1” x 1-1/2” DSP
- Score 3/4” from each side along the 5-1/2” edge of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece. Score 3/4” & 2-1/2” from each side along the 7” edge of the two 7” x 1-1/4” pieces.
- Attach the 3-3/4” x 4” piece of DSP to the center of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece. Fold the 3/4” sides towards the DSP.
- Attach the two 7” x 1-1/4” strips even with the top and bottom of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece. Put the adhesive on the 3/4” flaps. Fold on the score lines so that the strips bend out.
- Attach the 1/2” x 4” pieces over the flaps.
- Attach the 1”x 1-1/2” & 1” x 1-3/4” pieces in the six sections created in the two strips.
- Attach focal point to middle strip sections on both the top and bottom.
Measurements & Directions for Vertical Bandstand
- 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” cardstock for card base
- (2) 5-3/4” x 1-1/4” cardstock (same color as card base)
- 2-3/4” x 5-1/4” DSP (1) & White (1)
- (2) 1/2” x 5-1/4” DSP
- (2) 1” x 1-3/2” DSP
- (4) 1” x 1-” DSP
- Score 3/4” from each side along the 4-1/4” edge of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece.
- Score 3/4” & 2” from each side along the 5-3/4” edge of the two strips.
- Attach the 2-3/4” x 5-2/4” piece of DSP to the center of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece.
- Assemble similarly to the horizontal version.

As the weather gets cooler, I pray you are thriving in Springfield. Looks like we’re in for a stormy winter. We will endure.
I just watched #162. Thank you, What a delightful and easy Fun Fold. There is so many possibilities with the Bandstand. I’ve called it an Open Bay Window. It could easily be mounted onto a folded card. I prefer the larger cards. Your measurements are easily adjusted to a 4″ x 6″ and 5″ x 7″ cards. Anxious to test out my calculations .
