Double Double OSW – Making Lots of Cards at Once

It’s halfway through October and we are approaching the end of the opportunity to make cards for Halloween. This leads me to share with you how I make cards in bulk using my own templates/patterns. Each time a holiday approaches or I need lots of thank you cards or birthday cards I turn to a template that helps me create multiple cards easily and quickly. And this is important to you too, because once you become a card maker you exponentially find more and more people that need your handmade cards. Right?

10 cards at once using the Double Double Card Template

So here is how you create multiple cards fast! I’m pulling out my 6 x 6 Double One Sheet Wonder Card Template and switching it up to make twice as many cards by simply adding two more pieces of 6 x 6 patterned paper. If you haven’t watched the video tutorial for the 6 x 6 Double One Sheet Wonder I recommend you start there and then dive in and double it for more cards. You can watch the video tutorial and download the pdf directions to help.

Supplies Needed (for 10 cards)

  • 4 sheet of 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (all 8sides should coordinate)
  • 10 card bases in a coordinating cardstock color 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” each
  • 10 pieces of neutral cardstock cut at 5 1/4” x 4”
  • Punched or die cut shapes for sentiments
  • Ribbon or embellishments of choice
  • Embossing Folder of choice

Directions for Cutting the DSP (Wonder Sheets)

  1. Stack all four 6 x 6 pieces of  DSP together making sure the patterns are aligned vertically.  You can cut all 4 pieces at the same time as long as your paper trimmer blade will go through them. Make the first cut at 2” along one side so that you have 2”x 6” and 4”x 6” pieces.
  2. Turn the stack of  2” x 6” pieces and cut at 3 1/4” along the long side.  This gives you 2” x 3 1/4” and 2” x 2 3/4” pieces.
  3. Turn the 4”x 6” pieces and cut at 4” and then at 1 1/2”.  This gives you 4” x 4” squares, 4” x 1 1/2” pieces and 4” x 1/2” pieces.
  4. Take the 4” x 4” squares and cut diagonally across (not from corner to corner, but offset from the corners about 1”)
  5. Lay the pieces as shown in the pictures onto the 10 cardstock trimmed quarters to get the designs that you want.
  6. If doing any background stamping do that prior to adhering the pieces with adhesive.
  7. Run each trimmed quarter through an embossing folder.
  8. Mount onto card bases and embellish as desired.
