Really Simple Layout #3 & Card Cousins – Papercrafting Playdate 184

I am loving this new series of card templates that I’ve called, “Really Simple Layouts”. They are perfect for some easy summertime stamping or when you want to make cards but not think too hard! These layouts are meant to remind us of the joy we receive when creating easy, basic, and simple card designs.

In addition to showing you a new Really Simple Layout (#3 woohoo!!!), I am going to also teach you how to take the basic layout and change it up to create two related card ideas that I am calling “card cousins” 😂. All the information needed to create on your own is below including the supplies I used for my projects.

Really Simple Layout #3 has been around before (because it is a favorite)! It is Card Template 21, Uneven Four Square. See even more ideas with this same concept here.

1. Watch the video tutorial for Really Simple Layout #3 to learn how to create with it.
2. Download the 2 PDFs to use as a resource when you are creating on your own.
3. Grab some friends and teach them how to make a handmade card using a REALLY SIMPLE LAYOUT!! Stamping with friends is always a good idea!

RSL #3 (really simple layout) (a.k.a. Uneven Four Square) Measurements

• 5-1/2” x  8-1/2” card base
• 2” x 2” DSP #1
• 2” x 3-1/4” DSP #2
• 2” x 2” DSP #3
• 2” x 3-1/4” DSP #4
• Punched/Die cut greeting shape

Card Cousin – Split Uneven Four Square

By simply splitting the basic shapes in half a completely different pattern is created.

• 1” x 3-1/4” DSP #2 (2)

Card Cousin – Puzzle Slider Fun Fold

• 4-1/4” x 9-1/2” card base
• 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White for inside
• 2-1/8” x 3-3/8” cardstock (2) (same as card base)
• 2-1/8” x 2-1/8” cardstock (2) (same as card base)
• 2” x 2” DSP #1
• 2” x 3-1/4” DSP #2
• 2” x 2” DSP #3
• 2” x 3-1/4” DSP #4
• Punched/Die cut greeting

Card Cousin – Background Collage

Think outside the box on this one. Any card front can be cut into the Really Simple Layout #3! Adding this step just creates more interest in your design. Collage a card front background or create any design and cut it up using RSL ##.
