Ready to love a super easy fun fold? I have named this one the Surprise Narrow Trifold card. It is a surprise because it looks and feels like a basic invitation-sized card but opens to reveal a narrow fold out. It’s brilliant! I found the inspiration for this fun fold from Susan Campfield who shared a card sent to her by Caryn Schultz. You can see Susan’s video tutorial here. Surprise Narrow Trifold
Supplies
- 5-1/2” x 7-1/2” cardstock for card base
- 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” cardstock for card front
- 5-1/4” x 4” DSP (optional for front)
- 5-1/4” x 3” DSP (2 different patterns)
- 5-1/4” x 3” Basic White for inside
Directions
- Score the card base at 1” and 4-1/4”.
- Fold the 1” score line away from the card front and fold the 4-1/4” score line in the opposite direction.
- Attach the 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” piece of cardstock to the 1” section of the card front only.
- Attach the two pieces of 5-1/4” x 3” DSP on the inside of the card base where it folds out.
- Add the 5-1/4” x 3” piece of Basic White in the inside for the message.
- Add a 5-1/4” x 4” piece of DSP to the card front (optional) and decorate as desired.

Horizontal Easel Version of the Narrow Trifold
- Assemble the card exactly the same orienting the DSP accordingly.
- Add a popped up, small die-cut/punched greeting or accent to the edge of the fold-out section of the inside as a “stopper” for the card front to rest against while on display.
