Triple Panel Z-Fold Cards – Papercrafting Playdate 161

There are so many fun folds to choose from when it is time to make a card that it is literally impossible to ever get bored with card making. True story. I point this out because today’s fun fold is new to me, and I absolutely love to meet a new fun fold after 25+ years of card making. The Triple Panel Z-Fold card is interesting because it has movement like a basic Z-Fold card and multiples the movement by three!

Papercrafting Playdate 161 – Triple Panel Z-Fold

Supplies & Directions for Triple Panel Z-Fold

  • 7-1/4” x 5-1/2” cardstock base
  • 7-1/4” x 4-1/2” cardstock for Z-Fold strips
  • 1-1/4 x 4 DSP #1 (3)
  • 1-1/4 x 1-1/4” DSP #2 (6)
  • 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White for card back
  • Focal point any size or shape
  1. Score along the 7-1/4” edge of the cardstock base at 1-1/2” and 3”. Fold the 3” score line towards the middle of the card. Fold the 1-1/2” score line back like a Z-fold.
  2. Score along the 7-1/4” edge of the cardstock for Z-Folds at 1-1/2” and 3”. Cut the piece into 1-1/2” strips along the 4-1/2” side. This will give you three strips.
  3. With the card base flat and the score lines on the left side, adhere the strips with the score lines on the right. Use adhesive to attach only on the far left and right edges. One strip will be flush with the top edge and one with the bottom edge and the third strip is centered in the middle with ½” on each side.
  4. Create a focal point and attach to card front adhering only to the strips.
  5. Attach the 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Basic White to the back.

Quadruple Panel Z-Fold

  • 7-1/4” x 5-1/2” cardstock base
  • 7-1/4” x 4-1/2” cardstock for Z-Fold strips cut at 1-1/8” each with ¼” spaces between
  • 1-1/8 x 4-1/4” DSP #1 (4)
  • 1-1/8 x 1-1/2” DSP #2 (6)
  • 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White for card back
  • Focal point any size or shape
