What do you make with leftover strips of pattern paper? Use them to create a stunning card front! Card Template 35, Slanted Strips, uses seven one inch strips of paper. This easy card front design provides the perfect background for your focal point greeting, AND has so many ways to vary the design.

Measurements & Directions

  • 5-1/2” x  8 1/2” card base
  • 5-1/2” x  1” cardstock, foil, or shimmer cardstock
  • 4”  x  1” (6 different DSP patterns)
  • Small Focal Point cluster any shape
  • 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” Basic White cardstock or copy paper
  1. Make a light pencil mark 1” from the left edge of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” card front to mark where the 5-1/2” x  1” paper will be attached. 
  2. Starting at the top edge with one of the DSP strips, attach at an upward slant overlapping the pencil mark slightly and going off the right edge of the card.
  3. Continue adhering the strips down the card front filling up all the space. Turn the card front over and trim off all the overhanging DSP edges with scissors.
  4. Adhere the 5-1/2” x  1” piece of cardstock/foil/shimmer paper along the fold and covering the other edges of the DSP.
  5. Attach a small focal point cluster anywhere on the card front.
