Paper Pumpkin Playtime – “Kindred Greetings” August 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit

It’s time to play with August’s Paper Pumpkin Kit, “Kindred Greetings”. Join me as we put together the cards and use this simply elegant kit! You will find a video tutorial for creating with this kit as well as ideas for some alternative designs below.

Grab your kit and join me for some creative playtime. August’s Paper Pumpkin Kit, “Kindred Greetings” makes nine cards. I will make three cards as designed by Stampin’ Up! and then make four alternative versions using the supplies in the kit. The photos of the alternative cards are below. Watch the video for the specific measurements used to create the alternative designs on cards #1-#4.

Alternative Card 1 – Window Card Within a Card

• Cut out the middle of the card front measuring 3/8″ all round the edge.
• Attach the die cut over the opening you create.
• Insert a Basic White card measuring 5-1/4″ x 8″, scored at 4″ inside the window card facing the opposite direction. The two cards together will create a trifold effect when opening.

Alternative Card 2 – Woven Strips Card

• Cut a premade card base in half and trim to 4″ x 5-1/4″. Attach to Lost Lagoon card base.
• Use inks and blending brushes to create watercolor effect on six strip die-cuts from the kit.
• Weave the strips together and secure with adhesive.
• Pop-up weaving with dimensionals and add focal point.

Alternative Card 3 – Bookbinding Fold

• Using the premade card base that is already scored at 4-1/4″, create another score line at 3-1/4″ on the front of the card base.
• Use adhesive on the 1″ section on the inside of the card base and adhere this section to the inside of the card creating the binding.
• Use the remainder left over after popping out the greeting die cuts as a stencil to create strips on the card front.
• Cut apart the large Lost Lagoon leaf die cut into four pieces and arrange into a loose wreath.

Alternative Card 4 – Pocket File Folder Card

• Use the direct-to-paper technique to apply ink to both sides of the premade card base.
• Score the premade card base that is already scored at 4-1/4″, 1″ from the edge of the card front. This will fold down to create an open pocket.
• Cut a piece of Basic White 4-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ for insert. Cover with a piece of the decorative envelope. Add one of the long strip die cuts on the top edge to create the look of a file folder tab.

How I used the Remainder of My Kit – 6 More Cards

Z-Fold Card: I attached the premade die cut to a piece of Basic White the same size and attached to a Petal Pink card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″.
