Really Simple Layout #4 & Card Cousins – Papercrafting Playdate 190

This is another installment of my new series of card templates called, “Really Simple Layouts”. They are perfect for some easy stamping when you don’t want to think too hard! This particular layout is well proportioned to be great for times when you want to mass produce cards at one time for a holiday or special occasion.

In addition to showing you a new Really Simple Layout, I am going to also teach you how to take the basic layout and step it up to create two related card ideas that I am calling “card cousins” 😂. All the information needed to create on your own is below including the supplies I used for my projects.

RSL #3 (really simple layout) (a.k.a. Focus on the Middle) Measurements

• 5-1/2” x  8-1/2” card base
• 1-1/8” x 4” DSP #1 (2)
• 2-3/4” x 4” DSP #2
• Punched/Die cut greeting shape

RSL #3 Stepped-Up Version

• 5-1/2” x  8-1/2” card base
• 1-1/8” x 4” DSP #1 (2)
• 2-1/2” x 4” DSP #2
• 1-1/4” x 4-1/8” cardstock (2)
• 2-5/8” x 4-1/8” cardstock
• Punched/Die cut greeting shape

RSL #4 Card Cousin – Mini Z-Fold

• 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” (2)
• 4-1/8” x 1-1/4” coordinating cardstock (2)
• 4-1/8” x 2-5/8” coordinating cardstock (1)
• 2-1/2” x 4” DSP #2
• 1-1/8” x 4” DSP #1(2)
• 2-1/2” x 4” Basic White
• Punched/Die cut greeting

1. Score one of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” pieces at 2-3/4” and 4-1/8” along the long edge. Fold in half on the 2-3/4” score line and in the opposite direction on the 4-1/8” score line.
2. After attaching the layered pieces on the outside edges of the card base, center and attach the mini z-fold in between them. 
3. Attach the layered center panel to the section folded back leaving a 1/16” border.
4. Add the Basic White to the inside and attach a greeting/focal point on the front.

Now it’s your turn to take the basics of the Really Simple Layout #4 and create some cards and a card cousin! I hope you have so much fun with these projects.
