Center Panel Easel Cards – So Delightful!

Need a card that really stands up and shows the recipient just how much they mean to you? This fun variation on an Easel Card pattern is just what you need. Even though the card name is a bit of a mouthful, I promise that putting one of these fun stand-up cards is very simple and won’t get you choked up (except by how beautiful the cards turn out)!

Papercrafting Playdate #45 – Center Panel Easel Cards.

Basic Supplies for Center Panel Easel Card

  • 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2” – card base, scored at 4-1/4”
  • 4 1/4” x 3 1/2” – cardstock for center panel
  • 4” x 3 1/4” – Basic White cardstock, cut 2
  • 1” x 4 1/4” patterned paper, cut 2 (optional)
  • Punched or die cut shape for inside sentiment

Fold the card base on the score line. Determine the front of the card base. Using the paper trimmer, cut 1” from each edge of the card base front from the bottom up to the score line. These two cuts will make 3 panels on the card front. The center panel will measure 3-1/2” across. Measure and score at the halfway point (2-1/8”) of the center panel and fold in half. This center panel should fold towards the inside of the card base.

Stamp a background image on the 1” side panels. Adhere both of the 1” side panels to the inside of the card base leaving only the center panel moveable. Stamp on the 4” x 3 1/4” piece of Basic White as desired. Mount this piece onto the 4 1/4” x 3 1/2”  piece of coordinating cardstock. This will be the focal point of the card and the feature that stands up as the easel on the center panel. Adhere the focal point to the center panel of the card base ONLY to the bottom section below the folded (2-1/8”) scoreline.

The Center Panel Easel Card open for display.

Adhere the other Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card base and stamp inside greeting. Attach a punched/die cut shape popped-up with dimensionals approximately 1-1/2” from the bottom edge. This creates a “stop” to tuck the folded center panel behind to display the card.

There are so many ways to take the basic design of this card pattern and step-it-up, adjust the measurements, or change to make it work for the paper and stamp images you have in YOUR stash. Check out the samples I created (I may have gone a bit crazy as usual).
