Do you ever wish that you could use Designer Series Paper and have both of the patterned sides show at the same time? A collar fold is a great way to use double-sided patterned paper with coordinating sides. This easy card front layout uses one piece of DSP, incorporates one simple cut and can be the backdrop for many different focal points. I have 3 ways to use the collar fold to create stunning card fronts.

The 3 different ways to utilize a collar fold that I’m showcasing are Basic Collar, Offset Collar, and a Pocket Collar. Watch the video tutorial to watch the cutting and assembling process for 3 different ways to use the collar fold. Download the free pdf to see step by step directions.

Basic & Offset Collar Fold Supplies

Directions for Basic Collar Fold
- On the long side (5-1/4”) of the patterned paper find the middle at 2-5/8” and make a 1-3/4” cut from this mid point towards the center of the patterned paper.
- Score from each corner to the end of the cut line. Fold back on the score lines to create the collar.
- Attach the collar pieces with dimensionals.
- Attach the collar fold to the 4” x 5-1/4” piece of coordinating cardstock. (If stamping a background on the opening do that step first before attaching.)

- Score from each corner to the end of the cut line. Fold back on the score lines to create the collar.
- Attach the collar pieces with dimensionals.

Directions for Pocket Collar Fold
- On the long side (12”) of the patterned paper score 3-1/4” from each side to create the sides of the pocket.
- Measure 6” along the 12” side and make a 1-3/4” cut in from the side to create the collar.

- Use liquid glue or tear tape to close the bottom of the pocket and overlap the ends to close.
- Fold the 5” x 7” cardstock in half and decorate the front of the insert card.
