Really Simple Layout #1 & Card Cousins | Papercrafting Playdate 181

What would you say to a new series of card templates that I’m calling, “Really Simple Layouts”? This new series of card layouts are so simple you don’t have to think too hard (perfect for some summertime stamping). In addition to showing you the new Really Simple Layout, I am going to also teach you how to take the layout and create two related fun folds (called card cousins 😊). All the information you need to create on your own is below including the supplies I used for my projects.

Really Simple Layout 1 Plus its Card Cousins!

Here’s Your Homework 😉

  1. Watch the video tutorial for Really Simple Layout 1 to learn how to create with it…and then some!
  2. Download the 2 PDFs to use as a resource when you are creating on your own.
  3. Grab your friends and teach them how to make a handmade card using a REALLY SIMPLE LAYOUT!!
Papercrafting Playdate 181 – Really Simple Layout 1 & Card Cousins

RSL (really simple layout) Measurements

  • 5-1/2” x  8-1/2” card base
  • 4” x 5-1/4” coordinating cardstock
  • 3-3/4” x 1-1/2” DSP (3)
  • 2-3/4” x 1” Basic White

Card Cousin – Triple Interlocking Gatefold

By separating the basic pieces of Really Simple Layout #1 and attaching them to a gatefold card base you can step-up the basic layout to create an Interlocking Gatefold Card.

Card Cousin – Inside Flip Flap Card

With simple changes in the card base size and adding some score lines you can create a fun fold card with moving flaps inside. I’m calling this card a cousin to the Really Simple Layout #1 because the DSP and flap pieces are the same size.

Now it’s your turn to take the basics of the Really Simple Layout #1 and create some cards and card cousins! I hope you have so much fun with these projects.
