3 Ways to Create Pop-Out Cards | Papercrafting Playdate 114

Pop-out cards are perfect for any occasion where you want the recipient to be surprised when opening their card. Pop-out cards are like normal cards except there is a party happening on the inside! They are great cards to be displayed or played with by opening them over and over. This tutorial is going to show three levels of pop-out mechanisms (easy to more involved) that can be added to the inside of any handmade card.

3 Ways to Create Pop-Out Cards

Basic Pop-Out Card

  • 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” cardstock for card base
  • 5-1/4” x 8-1/4” cardstock for insert

Tunnel Pop-Out Card

  • 5-1/4” x 8-1/4” cardstock or DSP
  • 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” cardstock for card base scored at 4-1/4” 
  • 2” x 5-1/4” DSP (2)

Shutter Pop-Out Card

  • 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” cardstock for card base scored at 4-1/4”
  • 5-1/4” x 8-1/2” cardstock shutter mechanism (Basic White preferred)
  • (4) 2” squares of DSP (or more!)
  • (2) 7/8” x 2” or DSP
  • (2) 7/8” squares of DSP
