It’s time for another new card template to help you put some cards together easily and happily! I’m calling this one, Happy Square, because it utilized a 3″ square as the layered focal point of the card front. One of the great things about this template is that is utilizes 3 pieces of coordinating patterned paper with a pleasing effect, and since I am diving into lots of brand new packages of Designer Series Paper this template has helped me to get to know my new paper!
Once I started creating with this template and my new DSP, I couldn’t stop!
Watch the video tutorial and download the directions & template for your inspiration while stamping!
Supplies Needed
• 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” cardstock base, scored at 4-1/4”
• 4” x 5-1/4” patterned paper #1
• 3” x 3″ patterned paper #2
• 4” x 1/2” patterned paper #3
• 4-1/4” x 1/4” coordinating cardstock
Choose 3 pieces of patterned paper that coordinate. One piece (and it doesn’t matter whether it is piece #1 or #2) should be “busy” and have a pattern that showcases many colors. The other piece should have a subtle pattern that coordinates. Then choose a third piece for #3 that has different, but coordinating color/pattern.
Add a twist to this template by doing the eclipse technique with the square. Instead of using a different piece of patterned paper, use the same one but mount onto a cardstock matte layer and pop-up.
Don’t have any pattered paper? No worries. You can use your stamps and ink to create your own paper and utilize this happy card template!
I hope you give this template a try and put your patterned paper to work! Happy stamping! -Robin
