Creating an Art Journal

What is an art journal?  It is a space to create in any way you want.  My vision for this project is to get out all my Stampin’ Up! supplies and use them mindfully in a journal.  During my creative time I will focus on being present while enjoying the art I create with my products. Does this sound like a good idea for you too?

The good news is that you probably already have all the supplies you need in your craft room to create this journal.  I’ve attached a pdf to download for step by step directions or you can watch the Youtube tutorial below (my first video tutorial).

So if you are like me and are needing some stamping therapy during these crazy pandemic months please join me in my playtime!

First Journal Entry – What to do First?

Now that you have made an art journal, what do you create in it first?  I decided to create my first layout using one of my favorite simple stamping techniques which I am naming Simple Soothing Stamping. I absolutely love it when I can create a card with just stamps, ink and paper. The joy of putting ink onto paper with a beautiful image is a thrill that is just as exciting for me today as it was when I first did it 20+ years ago.  I know, I’m a weirdo, and so are you if you are reading this post, right? I promise you that if you try this technique your day will get better.  You don’t have to use a journal – just pull out some Whisper White cardstock and create away!
