Pockets, Pockets, Pockets! – Papercrafting Playdate 121

I really love pockets. In my backpack, in my clothes, and especially in my papercrafting projects. One of the first items on my list to purchase in the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog was the Pocket Thoughts Dies and they are worth all the hype in my opinion. Let’s learn about the many ways these dies can add more pockets in your life!

Pocket Thoughts Dies can be used in cardmaking in many different ways! It is amazing how these 3 dies can create added fun to card projects. See all the projects shown above in action on the video tutorial – Papercrafting Playdate 121.

Here’s Your Homework 😉

  1. Watch Papercrafting Playdate episode 121 to see the Pocket Thoughts Dies in action.
  2. Download the Pocket Thoughts product info pdf to get important information about die measurements.
  3. Go make some cards with pockets (even if you don’t have the dies…yet!).
Papercrafting Playdate 121 – Pockets, Pockets, Pockets!

Small Pocket Die

There isn’t anything sweeter than a tiny pocket! The small pocket die is sized to fit just a little bit. This little guy is sure to brighten up any card with cuteness.

Medium Pocket Die

The medium pocket die is sized for gift cards, making this die extremely valuable. Location doesn’t matter when giving a gift card. You can put a gift card holder on the inside or outside of a card! Here are three ways to use the medium pocket die as a gift card holder.

One medium pocket on the inside.

Two medium pockets attached together on two sides then inserted into the center of the inside of a card vertically.

Two medium pockets attached together on two sides then inserted into the center of the inside of a card horizontally.

Two medium pockets attached together on three sides to create a stand-alone gift card holder.

Large Pocket Die

Two large pockets attached together on two sides then inserted into the center of the inside of a card vertically – just like the medium pocket die.

One large pocket attached to a card front to create a pull out card (with a medium pocket adhered to the front too!).

One large pocket made from a window sheet to create a holder for a notecard on a gift bag.

Two large pockets attached together with 2″ sides and bottom to create a box. This box holds notecards and envelopes. Of course you can make a box with the small and medium pocket dies too!

Now it’s your turn to think about adding some pockets to your projects. I would love to see what you come up with during your creative time! -Robin
