Tall Square Card Template 28 – Papercrafting Playdate 140

This is the last Papercrafting Playdate for the year 2024. I wanted to end the year with one of our favorite things, an easy card template. The Tall Square Card Template 28 is unique because it features a square card base with a large offset focal point that enlarges the footprint of the card to the typical 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ size. The simplicity of the pieces in this card template allows it to be flexible to work with all kinds of stamped images.

Three ways to use the Tall Square Card Template 28 from Papercrafting Playdate 140

Here’s Your Homework 😉

  1. Watch the video tutorial for Card Template 28 to see and learn about all the ways to utilize this template.
  2. Download the PDF for reference while you create your own Tall Square cards.
  3. Search your stash for some larger stamped images and get to work creating with today’s template.

Supplies & Directions for Card Template 28 (Tall Square Card)

  • 4 1/4” x  8-1/2” card base
  • 2” x 4” pattern paper (DSP)
  • 3” x 4-1/4” cardstock
  • 2-3/4” x 4” Basic White cardstock
  • 1-3/4” Die / Punched circle shape for greeting
  1. Attach the 2” x 4” piece of DSP onto the front of the square card along the bottom edge with the fold being at the top.
  2. Stamp on the 2-3/4” x 4” piece of Basic White cardstock and attach to the 3” x 4-1/4” piece of cardstock.
  3. Attach and pop-up the layered image onto the square card base so that 1-1/4” of the rectangle sticks out over the folded edge of the card base.
  4. Stamp greeting on the 1-3/4” circle and and attach to the bottom right corner of the layered rectangle.

Now it’s time to take the basic template and make adjustments and changes to reflect different stamp image and dies. This shows the flexibility of the card template.

Now it’s your turn to grab some supplies and play with the Tall Square Card Template 28! I can’t wait to see what you create. 😊

  1. Hey Robin MFFLF,
I’ve been watching your video Replay in sections, and I luv it! Gorgeous cards! zI want to place an order with you, (can’t pass up the stamp set after being inspired by you), however I can’t find your host code. Did I miss it? If so, where can I find it?
Ordering from you is one of my Christmas presents to myself this year!!
    Hugs,
    Nydia

    1. Charlotte, you are so kind! Thank you for remembering me with your precious calendar pages! Can’t wait to get back in my craft room and display them!

  3. Robin,
I so enjoy watching you make your beautiful creations. Of all the demonstrators that I watch on YouTube, you are by far my favorite.
Since I am the Chairperson of our Congregational Care Team at church, I lam in charge of making sure that the shut-ins and others jn need receive cards. I made 21 Fall cards using the Cornered Rectangles theme, and was very pleased with the end product. For Christmas I made cards using the Perpendicular Perfection Template ( once again making 21 cards. Thank you greatly for your great ideas.
By any chance are you, or were you at one time a teacher? I taught Kindergarten for 41 years and periodically you have said things that sound like something a teacher would say.

    1. Hi Edie! I’m absolutely thrilled that you are finding the card templates helpful and putting them to work for your card ministry – Yay! This makes me so happy! I do indeed have a teaching background, and it has always been a part of whatever I’m doing. Most recently I taught adults how to teach dyslexic children to read and the methodical, explicit way of instruction has definitely carried over into my card tutorials. Thank you so much!

  4. Robin,
Thank you for your answer. I retired from teaching Kindergarten in 2012 ( 41 years of teaching) because my husband was dying of cancer.
Since my retirement, I have been busy with church activities and making cards. One of my close friends is a demonstrator and has a card class twice a month that is attended by 4-5 people. I find great enjoyment in making cards for the people on our prayer list at church..
Thank you again for all the wonderful ideas that you share with us. They are greatly appreciated.
