Clean & Simple Card Template

We are keeping it easy today! I’ve got a lovely clean & simple card template design to share with you. Today’s template utilizes Designer Series Paper so it is a great template to use when you want to plow through your paper stash!

•5 1/2” ” x 8 1/2” cardstock base, scored at 4 1/4”

•3 1/4” x 1 1/2” Basic White CS or a neutral color

•2 3/4” x 5″ patterned paper

•3” square coordinating patterned paper

•Scraps for accent images

Clean & Simple Template – Papercrafting Playdate Facebook Live

Having a template is helpful because it gives you a starting place for putting a card project together without having to make it up on your own. This template is driven by the pattered paper, there are multiple ways to “step-up” this template to make it more fancy.

The 4 best ways for stepping up a simple card:

Add background stamping to the card front.
Layer the patterned paper on coordinating cardstock.
Add texture to a layer using an embossing folder.
Add embellishments to the focal point/sentiment.

Compare these two versions of the template. The one on the left is the basic version and the one on the right has been stepped-up using background stamping and layering the DSP on cardstock.

The next two versions show the stepped-up versions utilizing more texture with an embossing folder (on the left) and extra embellishments on the focal point (on the right)

One you get started on this template I promise you will easily have a bunch of cards ready to get in the mail to all your favorite people. I couldn’t stop creating until I had tried most of my patterned paper. A completely satisfying crafting experience!
