Papercrafting Playdate 117 – 3 Ways to Create Double Gatefold Cards

Before we get to the DOUBLE Gatefold cards I want to back up and remind you what basic gatefold cards look like. Definitely start here with these basic gatefold cards from a previous Papercrafting Playdate.

Basic Double Gatefold Cards

  • 5-1/2” x 11” cardstock for card base
  • 5-1/4” x 4” cardstock for insert
  • 5-1/4” x 1-7/8” DSP (2)
  • 5-1/4” x 1” DSP (2)
  • 1” x 10” cardstock for belly band

Diamond Double Gatefold Cards

  • 5-1/4” x 12” DSP
  • 2-3/4” square of cardstock 
  • 3-3/4” x 5” cardstock for insert
  • 5-1/2” x 4-1/2” cardstock
  • 1” x 10” for belly band (optional)

Angled Double Gatefold Cards

  • 5-1/2” x 12” DSP or (5-1/4” x 12”)*
  • 3-3/4” x 5-1/4” cardstock for insert
  • 1” x 10” for belly band (optional)
  • 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” coordinating cardstock*
    • Use for 5-1/4” x 12” version
  • 1” x 10” for belly band (optional)

  2. Beautiful cards! I’ve given up on using belly bands unless it’s a fellow card maker. Others I send cards to aren’t sure how to open the card so they rip the band and toss it.
